CDL School Bus Drivers

In this role, CDL school bus drivers safely transports students to and from school in large yellow school buses, following predetermined routes and schedules. They prioritize the well-being of students and maintain a secure and orderly environment during transportation. The yellow buses are easy to drive, and anyone can do it!

CDL Bus Driver Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old, along with having a minimum of 3 consecutive years of driving experience.
  • Are kind, compassionate, and patient. Our students that we transport look forward to starting and ending their day with a friendly face!
  • Are passionate about safely transporting students to and from school.
  • Can bring their children with them on their routes!  
  • Ready to build positive relationships with parents, students and other drivers.  
  • Have a CDL license with School and Passenger endorsements. (Paid training will be offered to obtain all proper driving credentials.)

MiniBus Drivers

New York City only. CDL school bus drivers safely transport students to and from school, following predetermined routes and schedules. They prioritize the well-being of students and maintain a secure and orderly environment during transportation. 

MiniBus Driver Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old, along with having a minimum of 3 consecutive years of driving experience.
  • Are kind, compassionate, and patient. Our students that we transport look forward to starting and ending their day with a friendly face!
  • Are passionate about safely transporting students to and from school.  
  • Ready to build positive relationships with parents, students and other drivers.  
  • Have CDL credentials B with School and Passenger endorsements. (Paid training will be offered to obtain all proper driving credentials.)

School Van Drivers

Massachusetts and New England only. School Van Drivers transport children with special needs to and from school, taking care of our most vulnerable and precious community members.

School Van Driver Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old, along with having a minimum of 3 consecutive years of driving experience.
  • Are kind, compassionate, and patient. Our students look forward to starting and ending their day with a a friendly face!
  • Are able to get a 7D drivers’ certificate (we will help you with this!)
  • Are able to safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all State and Federal traffic laws, while driving school-aged children.    
  • Are comfortable operating a variety of vehicles, including sedans, mini-vans, full size passenger vans, and wheelchair vans (training provided).
  • Are able to safely assist students as needed. This includes helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats. 
  • Can communicate effectively and clearly (in English) with students, parents, teachers, and staff.   

Paratransit and Non-Emergency Medical Drivers

Paratransit bus drivers provide personalized transportation services to the elderly and individuals with disabilities or special needs, giving them access to resources that allow them to live active and fulfilling lives. 

Paratransit and NEMT Driver Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old with with having a minimum of 3 consecutive years of driving experience.
  • Are kind, compassionate, and patient.
  • Provide non-emergency transportation, driving passengers to medical appointments and community programs.
  • Pick up passengers in response to radio or telephone relayed requests for service. Routes are not fixed, and trips are different every day.
  • Demonstrate safe and defensive driving skills, in accordance with our procedures.
  • Complete the appropriate training to obtain credential needed to transport our clients.

Mechanics

Mechanics and automotive technicians ensure proper performance and safety of company fleet by performing major and minor mechanical repairs and maintenance to fleet vehicles, ranging from cars and minivans to diesel buses, depending on location. Must have a solid background in vehicle maintenance. 

Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle preventative maintenance.
  • Accurately diagnose and perform phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
  • Accurately document repairs and parts in Fleet Maintenance Information System (FMIS).
  • Follow checklists and procedures while conducting repairs.
  • Remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components.
  • Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately entered in FMIS.
  • Select appropriate course of action for repairs.
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release – seek supervisor approval where required.
  • Ensure safe use of power and hand-held tools.
  • Perform road calls and emergency services as necessary.
  • Safely move vehicles between job and work area.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
  • Actively participate in safety or educational training as required.

Applicants should:

  • Have minimum of three years vehicle repair experience. (Diesel OR Auto)
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and accurately repair assigned vehicles with some guidance and assistance from lead mechanic.
  • Have a valid driver’s license. A CDL is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set and knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles
  • Be a kind, collaborative individual who can work as part of a team.
  • Have strong customer service, verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to operate laptop/computer for diagnostic, tracking and reporting purposes
  • Have operational knowledge of shop tools to include Freon Recovery machine, Ox/Acetylene torch, CVAC (coolant evacuation machine), presses and common hand tools.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Be able to read diagrams and work with color-coded wiring.
  • Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Be able to work an eight-hour shift

Desired Skills:

  • OEM dealership experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and maintenance guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company fleet
  • Ability to judge the distance between equipment and an object
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

Physical Demands: Walk, stand on concrete floor. Bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles. Reach below, at and above shoulder height to repair vehicles. Insert hand(s) into confined areas to repair vehicles. Hand, power and air tool use is required. Climb, stand and balance on ladders or the vehicles to perform repair. Work above shoulders in cervical extension from a stand, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel. Work under vehicles while they are on the hoist or the shop floor.
